Terms & Conditions

To take driving lessons with Driving Portal or any of our instructors, you must make sure you meet the following requirements:

• Driving Licence: You must hold a valid UK Provisional Driving Licence (or a full foreign licence that permits you to drive in the UK). You’ll need to show this to your instructor on or before your very first lesson.
• Licence Check Code: Before your first lesson, you’ll need to share a valid DVSA licence check code so your instructor can verify your entitlement to drive.
• Eyesight & Medical Fitness: You must be able to read a standard UK car number plate from 20.5 metres away (wearing your glasses or contact lenses if you need them). If you have any medical condition or physical disability that could affect your driving, you must let us and your instructor know straight away.
• Fitness to Drive: You must be fit and ready to drive for every lesson. Never drive under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any medication that causes drowsiness or impairs your ability. If your instructor suspects you aren't fit to drive, they will cancel the lesson immediately, and you will still be charged in full.

2.1 Payments

• All single lessons, block bookings, and intensive course packages must be paid for in advance via our website, bank transfer, or directly to your assigned instructor as agreed.
• To qualify for any block booking discounts, the full payment must be made upfront.

2.2 48-Hour Cancellation Policy

• If you give less than 48 hours' notice—or if you fail to show up for your scheduled lesson—you will be charged the full price for that lesson.

2.3 Expiry of Block Bookings

• Booking Your Test: Unless you’ve booked a fast-track or managed test package with us, booking your DVSA practical driving test is your own responsibility.
• Instructor Approval for Test Day: Booking a practical test date doesn't automatically mean you can use your instructor's car. Your instructor will only allow you to use their vehicle for the test if they agree that you've reached a safe, confident, and test-ready standard.
• Tests Cancelled by the DVSA: If the DVSA cancels your practical test due to bad weather, examiner illness, or equipment failure, Driving Portal and your instructor cannot be held responsible. The standard fee for hiring the instructor's car for the test session still applies.

• Taking Your Photo: When you pass your driving test, your instructor might ask to take a quick photo or video of you holding your pass certificate or next to the tuition car.
• How We Use Photos: We love celebrating your success! Driving Portal may post your pass photos on our website ( www.drivingportal.co.uk ), social media pages (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Google Business), and local promotional materials.
• Opting Out: Having your photo taken is completely optional. If you’d prefer not to feature in any photos or videos, just let your instructor know or send us an email at info@drivingportal.co.uk . If you ever want a published photo taken down later on, just get in touch and we’ll happily remove it for you.

• Insurance Cover: Every tuition vehicle provided by Driving Portal or our instructors is fully insured for driving tuition and DVSA practical driving tests.
• Your Personal Property: Please remember to check for your belongings before getting out of the car. Neither Driving Portal nor your instructor can accept responsibility for any personal items left behind in the vehicle.
• Traffic Fines & Offences: You are responsible for any traffic offences, speeding fines, or penalty charges incurred if you intentionally ignore instructions given by your driving instructor.
