How much do driving lessons cost in Cardiff?

Driving Portal charges £40 per hour for manual lessons and £44 per hour for automatic lessons in Cardiff. At these hourly rates, a two-hour lesson costs £80 for manual or £88 for automatic. We also offer discounted 10-hour packages. Check our current lesson prices before booking.

which documents do I need before theory test ?

Bring your UK photocard driving licence. If you have a paper-only licence, bring a valid passport too.

Do you offer discounts for block-booking driving lessons?

Yes. Our 10-hour manual package costs £390, saving £10 compared with ten individual hours. Our 10-hour automatic package costs £415, saving £25. Pay in full upfront to receive the discount. Use your hours within six months of purchase; unused hours expire without a refund unless we agree to an extension in writing beforehand.

Should I choose manual or automatic driving lessons?

Choose manual if you want to drive both manual and automatic cars after passing. You’ll learn clutch control and gear changes alongside road skills. Choose automatic if you prefer learning without a clutch pedal or manual gear changes. Passing in an automatic limits your licence to automatic cars; you must pass a manual practical test to drive manual cars independently.

Is it better to take one-hour or two-hour driving lessons?

Choose one-hour lessons if you concentrate better in shorter sessions or want a lower cost per booking. Two-hour lessons give you longer to practise and develop skills in each session. We advertise one-hour lessons and 90-minute and two-hour manual sessions. Discuss your experience, concentration and budget with your instructor before choosing a lesson length.

How many driving lessons will I need before taking my test?

Your previous experience, learning pace and driving ability determines how many lessons you need. Neither 10 nor 20 lessons guarantees test readiness, and lesson lengths affect your total practice time. Your instructor can assess your starting point and review your progress. Take your test when you can drive safely and consistently without guidance.

How many driving lessons should I take each week?

Consider one or two lessons each week as a starting point, then adjust the schedule to your progress, availability and budget. Regular sessions help you build on previous practice, while time between lessons lets you reflect on feedback. Discuss a manageable routine with your instructor. If you prefer concentrated training, explore our intensive courses.

Which areas of Cardiff do you cover, and can you pick me up?

We offer driving lessons across Cardiff and surrounding areas. Contact us with your postcode to check availability in your location. If you want to start from home, work or university, ask about that pickup point before booking so you can confirm the arrangements.

Do you offer intensive driving courses in Cardiff?

Yes. We offer manual and automatic intensive courses with 15 hours over three days, 30 hours over five days, or 40 hours over eight days. Each course provides individual tuition. Choose a course around your experience and training needs. Visit our intensive driving courses in Cardiff page for prices and details.

Do you provide help with the driving theory test?

Yes. We give learners free access to Theory Test Pro for theory revision and hazard-perception practice. You can study alongside your practical lessons and ask your instructor to explain questions you find difficult. Contact us when you book to find out how to access your account.
